About your Teacher
Learn from an experienced and qualified music Pedagogue
My name is Gerard Chumilla. For me, teaching is not simply about transmitting knowledge, but about guiding each student as they develop their own relationship with music.
With over 10 years of teaching experience and a Master's degree in Music Pedagogy, I have developed an individual approach that combines structure with flexibility. BPS Studio was created around this idea: bringing together the long-term vision of a music school with the personal attention of private lessons.
Alongside teaching, I am an active professional musician, composer and recording artist. I studied Jazz Performance at the FHNW Jazzcampus in Basel, working with musicians including Brad Mehldau, Mark Turner, Ambrose Akinmusire and Kurt Rosenwinkel.
My artistic work includes collaborations and recordings with Larry Grenadier and Jorge Rossy, as well as my own projects as a performer and composer. I am also a Henri SELMER Paris Artist and D'Addario Artist.
This connection to the professional music world is an essential part of my teaching, bringing creativity, curiosity and real musical experience into every lesson.
