Dein Weg zur Musik.
Mit persönlicher Begleitung.
Für mich bedeutet Unterrichten mehr, als Wissen weiterzugeben. Es geht darum, jeden Menschen auf seinem musikalischen Weg zu begleiten, Neugier zu wecken und dabei zu helfen, das eigene Potenzial Schritt für Schritt zu entfalten.
In mehr als zehn Jahren Klavier- und Saxofonunterricht und durch meinen Master in Musikpädagogik habe ich einen persönlichen Unterrichtsansatz entwickelt. Jeder Mensch lernt anders. Deshalb orientiert sich der Unterricht an deinen Zielen, Interessen und deiner Art zu lernen — mit der Struktur und Kontinuität, die echte Fortschritte ermöglichen.
Je nach deinen Bedürfnissen verbinden wir Stücke und Technik mit Improvisation, Harmonielehre und Gehörbildung. Dabei geht es nicht nur darum, die richtigen Töne zu spielen: Du sollst verstehen, was du spielst, eigene Ideen ausprobieren und eine persönliche Beziehung zur Musik entwickeln.

Neben meiner Arbeit als Lehrer bin ich als Musiker, Komponist und Recording Artist aktiv. Ich habe Jazz Performance am FHNW Jazzcampus in Basel studiert und mit Musikern wie Brad Mehldau, Mark Turner, Ambrose Akinmusire und Kurt Rosenwinkel gearbeitet.
Meine künstlerische Arbeit umfasst eigene Projekte als Interpret und Komponist sowie Zusammenarbeiten und Aufnahmen mit Larry Grenadier und Jorge Rossy. Ich bin ausserdem Henri SELMER Paris Artist und D’Addario Artist.
Diese Verbindung zur professionellen Musikwelt ist ein wichtiger Teil meines Unterrichts. Die Erfahrungen aus dem Spielen, Komponieren und Aufnehmen bringen neue Perspektiven in jede Lektion — und halten auch meine eigene Neugier lebendig.

For me, teaching is about much more than passing on knowledge. It means accompanying each student on their musical journey, encouraging curiosity and creativity, and helping them develop their potential step by step.
With over ten years of experience teaching piano and saxophone, alongside a Master’s degree in Music Pedagogy, I have developed my own approach to teaching. Every student learns differently. Lessons are shaped around each person’s goals, interests and individual way of learning, while maintaining the structure and continuity needed to make meaningful progress.
Depending on the student, lessons can bring together repertoire, technique, improvisation, harmony and ear training. The aim is not simply to play the right notes, but to understand the music, explore your own ideas and develop a personal relationship with your instrument.

Alongside teaching, I am an active professional musician, composer and recording artist. I studied Jazz Performance at the FHNW Jazzcampus in Basel, working with musicians including Brad Mehldau, Mark Turner, Ambrose Akinmusire and Kurt Rosenwinkel.

Soy Gerard Chumilla. Acompaño a las personas a encontrar su propia relación con la música, con curiosidad, estructura y espacio para crear.
Mi historia ↓Tu camino en la música.
Con un acompañamiento personal.
Para mí, enseñar es mucho más que transmitir conocimientos. Significa acompañar a cada alumno en su recorrido musical, despertar su curiosidad y creatividad, y ayudarle a desarrollar su potencial paso a paso.
Tras más de diez años enseñando piano y saxofón y un máster en Pedagogía Musical, he desarrollado una forma propia de entender la enseñanza. Cada persona aprende de manera diferente. Por eso, las clases se adaptan a sus objetivos, intereses y forma de aprender, manteniendo la estructura y continuidad necesarias para avanzar.
Según lo que necesites, combinamos repertorio y técnica con improvisación, armonía y educación auditiva. El objetivo no es solo tocar las notas correctas: también es comprender la música, explorar tus propias ideas y desarrollar una relación personal con el instrumento.

Además de mi trabajo como profesor, soy músico profesional, compositor y artista de grabación. Estudié interpretación de jazz en el FHNW Jazzcampus de Basilea, donde trabajé con músicos como Brad Mehldau, Mark Turner, Ambrose Akinmusire y Kurt Rosenwinkel.
Mi trayectoria artística incluye colaboraciones y grabaciones con Larry Grenadier y Jorge Rossy, además de mis propios proyectos como intérprete y compositor. También soy artista de Henri SELMER Paris y D’Addario.
Esta conexión con el mundo profesional de la música es una parte esencial de mi enseñanza. Tocar, componer y grabar aporta nuevas perspectivas a cada clase y mantiene viva mi propia curiosidad.
